Mercedes-Benz Approval

Mercedes-Benz engine oil is the best choice for Mercedes vehicles because it is manufactured by the Mercedes company itself. Therefore, all necessary measures regarding the performance of this product have certainly been taken into account. Based on your vehicle’s specifications, such as its model or class, you can choose the best option among various Mercedes engine oils.

Original Mercedes engine oil is made using the latest base oil technology and is one of the best oils suitable for vehicles produced by this German automotive giant. The high quality of Mercedes-Benz vehicles means that producing spare parts and consumables for these cars requires special care. Different oils are recommended for Mercedes-Benz vehicles depending on varying temperature conditions.

Mercedes-Benz Approval: MB 226.5
This oil specification is required for gasoline engines in vehicles produced by Renault-Nissan. The requirements of this oil specification are similar to those of MB 229.5.

Mercedes-Benz Approval: MB 226.51
This oil specification is based on the RN0720 standard and is recommended for diesel engines equipped with a DPF and supplied by Renault. Oils meeting this specification have excellent thermal stability and post-treatment compatibility.

Mercedes-Benz Approval: MB 229.1
Oils compatible with this Mercedes-Benz specification are suitable for both gasoline and diesel engines. The minimum required quality is ACEA A2/B2 with additional restrictions in the engine.

Mercedes-Benz Approval: MB 229.3
Oils meeting this specification are used for both gasoline and diesel engines. The minimum required quality is ACEA A3/B3/B4 and MB 229.1. This specification only approves 0W-5 oils.

Mercedes-Benz Approval: MB 229.31
Multi-grade engine oils for diesel and gasoline engines, Smart, and Chrysler vehicles are recommended. Only low-viscosity engine oils that can achieve 1.0% fuel savings in the M111 (CEC L-54-T-96) test compared to the reference oil RL 191 (SAE 15W-40) receive this Mercedes-Benz approval.

Mercedes-Benz Approval: MB 229.5
This Mercedes-Benz approval is for low-consumption oils for certain car and van engines. Approved oils must meet ACEA A3, B3, and B4 specifications as well as some additional Daimler-Chrysler AG requirements.

Mercedes-Benz Approval: MB 229.51
Mercedes-Benz SAPS Low Life Long engine oil approval is for diesel engines with particle filters, compliant with EU-4 standards.

Mercedes-Benz Approval: MB 229.52
Oils compatible with this Mercedes-Benz specification must have lower ash content, provide at least 1% better fuel consumption compared to MB 229.31 and MB 229.51 oils, and have better oxidation stability for biofuel compatibility. They can also be used as replacements for MB 229.31 or MB 229.51 if needed. Like MB 229.5 and MB 229.51, these oils are required to be long-life oils.
